Railtechniek van Herwijnen together with surface treatment supplier Glasbeek Finish B.V. were able to deliver this unique installation for Signatekst - a company that specializes in road signs and other roadwork equipment.

This T4 Power & Free overhead conveyor system can handle heavy loads up to 3500 kg, depending on trolley configuration. The trolleys carry the product, in this case road signage, through pretreatment units, powder coating stations, and a massive heating oven.

After heat treatment, the signs come out and dry in buffer zones as they get ready for the next phase of production. The system has multiple buffer zones to accommodate for high production volumes and ensure that there is enough storage space between each of the manufacturing processes. Additionally, all the processes are controlled through our PLC system, built entirely in-house. Through the control unit visualization, the factory workers can keep track of which stage each load bar is and how long each process will take.

It's really interesting to see how products we see almost every day are manufactured. So the next time you're on the road, think about how the signs you see probably went through an overhead conveyor just like this one!
