Kalfsvel Metaalcoating in Zaandam recently commissioned a new powdercoating line from MANOR GHENT, for which Railtechniek van Herwijnen B.V. was given the responsibility to deliver the transport system.
The choice was made to go for a manual monorail with a shunting bridge or "cassette" system, where the rail tracks connect a spraying cabinet, oven and buffer zone together. The advantage of this sort of system is that very large (up to 9m long) and heavy (up to 2000kgs) products can be coated, heat-treated, cooled and moved around inside a relatively compact space.
